A flagship store for Huaxia Building Blocks that fuses the vocabulary of traditional Chinese architecture—grey-tile pitched roofs, dougong brackets and vermilion timber frames—with the playful grammar of building blocks. From the street-facing shopfront to the exhibition interior, classical forms are translated into a tactile, contemporary retail experience for all ages.

Huaxia Building Blocks’ flagship store re-imagines the classical Chinese courtyard as a space of play and discovery. Grey-tile roofs, dougong brackets and vermilion timber columns are recomposed through the language of building blocks—round studs, stepped profiles and modular grids—so that tradition is experienced, not merely viewed.

The street-facing facade reads as an elegant antique house, hung with gilded calligraphy banners and framed by red timber joinery. Step inside and the familiar Chinese order is punctuated by the unexpected: a lion sculpted entirely from bricks, column heads and beam soffits patterned with studs, and a circular emblem built from blocks where the brand name ‘Huaxia’ takes form.

The result is a retail environment that bridges heritage and hobby—at once a boutique, a gallery and a workshop for building-block culture in China.
